An extension to the school oval to provide a larger sports field with room for multiple sports users. Gladstone Drafting carried out the Project from the Initial Planning, Approval process, operational works applications, tendering and contract management.
The area had to be managed sensibily due to being in an acid sulphate soils zone; close to the mouth of the Boyne River. A colony of bats also frequented the trees nearby. Project co-ordination and planning was critical as works were undertaken whilst the school was in use.
The project included design and management of bulk earthworks, demolition and mulching, new drainage, extension of the irrigation system, extension of the oval to allow a larger running track and football fields, new cricket pitches and other sporting facilities. Project budget $250,000. Project came in significantly under budget.
